The research investigations were conducted with an optimum fusion between:

1. Analytical calculations and developing design hypothesis.

2. Numerical simulations (simple and advanced) using finite element models.

3. Experimental investigations on small-scale samples and full-scale specimens.

An overview of the different tasks is described through the relevant work packages (WP1 - WP7).
